Kathleen,

I tested out your calendar in Windows and works just fine. Attached is a picture of the screen.

A couple things you might suggest to your PC friends:

1. Update their browsers to the latest version (whether Mac or PC)
2. Make sure to copy the entire URL Address to the calendar.

If you look above the link doesn't work if you just click the link. However, if you copy and paste the entire link into your browser bar it should work just fine.

Hope that helps clarify the situation.

Hey! Sorry I've been busy this week, I'll test it out on a Windows Install this weekend as it appears to be working great on my Mac!

Matt - I published a Kathleen'sTest calendar just now. (I took my Gallery one down). These are the Apple instructions for sending an email to people to tell them how to access the calendar.

You can view my calendar at:
http://ical.mac.com/artistkate/Kathleen's%20Test

You can subscribe to my calendar at:
webcal://ical.mac.com/artistkate/Kathleen's%20Test.ics

To learn more about iCal or to download a copy, go to http://www.apple.com/ical

Thanks for helping with this.

Hey Kathleen,

If you could send a link to the calendar we might be able to diagnose things a little better.

My guess is that your PC friends might need to upgrade their web browser to either the latest version of Internet Explorer or the latest copy of Firefox for the PC.

Hope that helps :)

I'm back again - now trying to Publish a calendar on-line (on .Mac) for the Art Guild. The Help manual said anyone could view it using a standard web browser. Most of the potential users are PC users. They can't access it using the "view". But several have been able to access it using the "subscribe" URL. People with Microsoft Explorer can't access either one. I thought Apple was trying to become PC compatible!!! Help......anyone?

Matt,
I figured it out. Was able to clean up the mess and get everything into the home calendar, and now am able to set up more calendars and get the correct info into the correct calendar.

Matt,
Thanks for reply. I have OSX 10.4.11 but think it should be OK. I realize what I did wrong - had 3 calendars checked (home, work, garden) and have been adding events that are now all over the place. I meant to have all the current events be in the home calendar. Is there a way to combine all these into the home calendar? I don't need a work calendar.

Hey Kathleen,

Events are added to whatever calendar you have selected on the left hand side of the screen (I'm assuming you have leopard 10.5). The current calendar I have selected is the Test Calendar, so whatever events I add to iCal will be added to that calendar.

However, all of the Calendar will show up in iCal unless you check or uncheck their visibility. In the pic above 'Matt IT' and 'Service Calls' are both calendars I have, but they aren't currently visible because they are unchecked.

Hope that helps, and be sure to post back any questions you may have.

Do any of you use iCal? I do and have one calendar, but recently wanted to add a new calendar for my garden. When I add the new calendar, all the entries on my home calendar show up on it. Is it possible to have a separate calendar with only entries for my garden events?
