LAUG Podcast 05.07: Boot Camp

A podcast from the May meeting of the Lawrence Apple Users Group. This month’s topic included a presentation on running Windows on your Mac by Brian Best of Best Macs.

The meeting opened up with introductions, recent Apple news followed by a discussion of how to run Windows on your Intel Mac. Various options including Bootcamp, Parallels, Wine and VMWare were discussed as well as the pros and cons of each solution.

The door prizes for this month’s meeting included Travel Photography: Perfect Photos Every Time from Blue Pixel and a 5th Gen iPod case from Mophie.

LAUG Podcast 04.07: Remote Control

The meeting opened up with introductions, recent Apple news followed by a discussion of the pros and cons of different Remote Control apps on the Mac. The programs discussed included Timbuktu Pro, Chicken of the VNC, Copilot and a host of remote control applications.

The door prizes for this month’s meeting included a TuneDok from Belkin and a copy of Timbuktu Pro from Motorola.

LAUG Podcast 02.07: Wireless Networking

A podcast from the February meeting of the Lawrence Apple Users Group. This month’s topic included a presentation on Wireless Networking and the Mac hosted by LAUG’s own Dave Greenbaum.

The meeting opened up with introductions, recent Apple news and commercials and then dived into a discussion about the best routers and networking setups for group members as well as how to secure your wireless access point. Over half of members present at the meeting had never used wireless networking which helped to steer the discussion and questions.

The door prizes for this month’s meeting included Podcasting and Blogging with Garageband and iWeb and Wireless Starter Kit both from Peachpit, as well as Mac User’s Guide to Living Wirelessly courtesy of Course Technology PTR.

LAUG Podcast 01.07: Question and Answers

The meeting opened up with introductions, the recent Apple news and then jumped into questions from those in attendance as well as emailed ones. The questions ranged from how to switch from Dial-up to a cable model to how to connect a bluetooth enabled cell phone to the Mac.

The door prizes for this month’s meeting included Real World Mac Maintenance from Peachpit and iPod and iTunes: 4th Edition courtesy of O’Reilly.
